In short, internet trolls exhibit a sense of insecurity, antisocial, and a feeling of loneliness.

I can only imagine these being brought up in an unhappy and competitive environment to have been instilled with such traits. After all, how we think and act are often dictated by the environment we grew up in as a child and a teenager.

Indeed, it’s definitely not a good idea to try to talk them into seeing things from our perspective or to try to “prove them wrong”. Will keep that in mind if I do meet one of the internet trolls in the future.
